Favorite Song

When someone ask me what is my favorite song, it is always a hard answer because I am a little hipster and people might not know what I am talking about. However, since my grandchildren probably will be reading this, and I will be dead by that time, It doesn’t matter. I started to learn german in 10th grade. In order to get used to the german language, I started to listen german pop songs. I found a song title in german “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann”, which in English is “Anyhow, Anywhere, Anytime”. Because this is not only an scrapbook, but also an English assignment, I will put the lyrics in German and in English (Although there is a version in English  titled “Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime”, however, the lyrics on that version change, and many of the ideas of the original version are not well preserved). The lyrics are translated.
In the fall through time and space
towards infinity,
moths fly into the light,
just like you and I.

The future starts anyhow, anytime, anywhere,
I'm not waiting any longer.
Love is made out of courage,
don't think too long about it,
we're riding on pinwheels
towards the future through the night.

Give me your hand,
I’ll build you a
sand castle,
anyhow, anywhere,
anytime.
The time is right for
a little
tenderness,
anyhow, anywhere,
anytime.

In the fall through time and space
there wakes out of a dream
just one short moment,
then the night returns.

The future starts anyhow, anytime, anywhere,
I'm not waiting any longer.
Love is made out of courage,
don't think too long about it,
we're riding on pinwheels
towards the future through the night.

Give me your hand,
I’ll build you a
sand castle,
anyhow, anywhere,
anytime.
The time is right for
a little
tenderness,
anyhow, anywhere,anytime.
x2

anyhow, anywhere,anytime.

What I love from this song a rhymes in german at the end of the lines (for example, Hand & Sand, Raum & Traum, Licht & Ich), and the alliteration of the phrase “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann”. The sound of the battery and the guitars that are played in the song, share with the listener the energy and the strength that german musicians play.

The lyrics of this song are kind of abstract, but they are understandable. The singer (Which is a girl, but the idea can also be expressed by a guy) expresses to her lover that they don’t have time to waste, and therefore they have to love each other.
